How To Make Your Home Cozy For Fall

Today’s guest post is from Alex Berger of The Berger Bungalow.

Are you excited for fall? Me too! I’m already getting my home ready for fall and I cannot wait to share these ideas with you. If you are in the works of getting your home fall-ready, check out these simple ways on how to make your home cozy for fall.

Blankets

Now, if you ask me what I think about when fall comes to mind (home-centered), I automatically think about cozy blankets. I just love to curl up in front of a fire, in bed, or on the couch with think, huge blankets. It is the best thing about cooler weather, in my opinion. Cozy = blankets and plush pillows, to me.

The great thing about this is that blankets (and pillows, for that matter) are so easy to find during the cooler weather months. Maybe it’s because they know that everyone is searching for them, or maybe I just spot them from a mile away, I’m not sure. Either way, each time I get a hint of the cool weather, I run to my local stores and search high and low online for the best cozy blankets. They truly do make or break a fall season for me!

Your Fireplace

Put on a movie, create a fire, and have a cozy night in. They say that the kitchen is the center of a home, but to me, the room with a fireplace is the center of a home during the cool weather season because it just makes everything feel that much more cozy. If you need a good way to spruce up your fireplace, consider adding Faux Brick panels to it. Faux Brickwork is a Florida-based company that can help you with this project.

Brick creates a warm homey feel to me, so adding it to your fireplace makes a huge difference, in my opinion, and the great thing about this is that it will give your home that warm and homey feeling for all seasons – not just in the fall. Faux Brickwork is the leader in the supply of faux brickwork to the domestic and commercial world. They supply faux brickwork to many luxury homes, bars, restaurants, nightclubs, offices, and retailers. Their brickwork looks authentic and is very easy to install.

Say good-bye to the expensive and timely building work. Their materials are easy to install like I mentioned, they are affordable, and they have an extensive supply that you can choose from. If you are not happy with any look that they currently offer, no worries – they also have a design team that can help you out! Not handy? Do not fear. Installation is easier than ever. Warm Drinks

Speaking of fires, would it even be a cozy fire without a big blanket and a warm drink? I don’t think so. My favorite warm drink is a tasty flavored latte – I even went out and bought a machine that froths milk (or non-dairy creamer options) to enhance my latte game. If you are not a latte, then opt for a hot apple cider, or maybe a pumpkin drink.

Both of those options just scream fall to me. Also, a hot tea does the trick, if you want another non-dairy option, or even a caffeine-free option. Anything warm and cozy will definitely do the trick. Plus, it will also give your home that fall-like scent, which is what you are ultimately aiming for when it comes to making your home feel (and smell) cozy.

Fall Colors

Red, orange, neutrals, and more – they are all good fall colors and will definitely put you and your guests in the fall spirit! Try to incorporate these colors (as well as other colors that scream fall to you) within your home by adding some decor around the house. It doesn’t have to be anything too crazy. Maybe a pumpkin here and a faux apple there, anything works.

If you have kids in your house, you might want to do a few fall crafts with them to make homemade decor. This is not only fun and can be educational, but it makes the decor feel more personal, as well, and it gives you a chance to show off what your kids can do. There are so many fall crafts out there and I highly recommend searching on Pinterest to find a few of your favorites!

A Fall Patio

I always say that the first impression is extremely important and when people come into your home, the first thing that they will see is the outside of your home, specifically, your walkway and your patio. This is why I believe that making a cozy home for fall starts with your exterior. Consider adding spooky elements to your patio, or just a few pumpkins and maybe a few other sweet outdoor fall decor options. Once again, you do not have to do anything too fancy. Simple does the trick and in my opinion, less is more when it home to home decor.

Family

Last but not least, my favorite way to make your home cozy for fall is by having plenty of family time. Family is the most important thing to me and I will do anything to prioritize family time. When you are sitting by your cozy fire, maybe have a movie night with your family, and when you are drinking your warm drinks, come up with creative recipes with your family. There is nothing like family time, that’s for sure!
