There are many health problems you may suffer throughout your life; there are some are still not talked about and could be considered taboo and could leave you feeling very embarrassed to talk about or even seek help for. It isn’t just the problems’ down there’ which people get embarrassed about, there are plenty of others too, but they are all perfectly normal.
Many of these issues are common problems which, if you mentioned to anyone, you would actually find that they either suffer the same or know someone who does. People just don’t talk about these embarrassing issues that often. So, what are the top health problems that you could be suffering in silence when you needn’t be?
Toilet Issues
Anything ‘down there’ and related to the toilet is considered embarrassing. Whether it’s a urine infection, constipation, or piles, there are many problems that could cause you discomfort and leave you feeling embarrassed. A lot of them can be treated with products over the counter, so if you don’t feel quite ready to go to the doctor, then you could try your pharmacist first.Â
Odor Problems
This one can be embarrassing because you can’t always smell it yourself, but other people can. You could try using an antiperspirant before you go to bed and even try changing your diet as Sometimes, fatty foods, oils, or strong-smelling foods such as garlic, curry, and onions, can seep through your pores and cause body odor.
Itching
There are many things that can cause itching and it can be embarrassing if you feel like you’re scratching yourself all the time. It could be caused by something as simple as the clothes you are wearing or the washing powder or laundry detergent you’re using. But it could also be a symptom of something more serious, like a rash or an illness such as Plaque Psoriasis which is the most common form of psoriasis which is often itchy and painful. Drugs such as Guselkumab which is an injectable monoclonal antibody used to treat plaque psoriasis works by controlling the specific autoimmune response believed to cause psoriasis.
Sweating
Excessive sweating or hyperhidrosis isn’t life-threatening, but it can threaten your quality of life, and it can be embarrassing. Most people never seek help for this problem, but there are over-the-counter antiperspirants which can be applied to the hands and feet, as well as the armpits. A doctor can also prescribe higher-strength, aluminum salt-based antiperspirant, which can be effective.
Mental Health
Thankfully mental health is being talked about more and more today, and people are opening up about how they are feeling. Behavioral health can be an issue though, and just like physical health; it can sometimes be a problem for you. There are things you can do to help though, such as changing your diet, exercising, writing down your thoughts, meditating, or speaking to a doctor.
Acne
People can get very embarrassed about their skin and suffering from acne. However, it can be caused by a number of things, including your hormones, stress, pollution, using the wrong products, or eating certain foods. If you are suffering, then it is worth trying to change these things first before asking for medication from the doctor as it could be something really simple that will clear it up.
So, stop being embarrassed and reach out if you need help clearing up common health problems.
