Everyone experiences anxiety or worry, it’s part of being human. But if your anxiety is persistent and having a significant impact on your life, then you might have what’s known as an anxiety disorder. As with anything, if it’s affecting your life, you should get help. Speak to a doctor or a psychologist who can advise you of lifestyle changes and medications that may help.

Exercise

It might be the last thing you feel like doing, but working out can help get rid of your anxiety. This is because it releases endorphins and natural painkillers into the body, giving you a sense of calm. It can also be a great way to get rid of any nervous energy that may be pent up in your body.

Even better, exercise can help you to get to sleep easier, giving you that much-needed rest. Just be sure not to exercise too close to bedtime, as this could actually wake you up. Try calming exercises like tai chi or yoga to relax in the evening. A walk in a green, natural environment is a great way to get exercise and calm your mind, as evidence suggests being out in nature can relieve symptoms of anxiety.

Avoid Caffeine

Too much caffeine can leave you jittery and send your heart racing, which will only make anxiety worse. When you’re feeling low or anxious, it can be easy to reach for stimulants like these, but do your best to replace them. A proper nights sleep should see you well-rested enough to steer clear of excessive caffeine.

Many anxious people like to swap coffee for calming herbals teas, like chamomile or peppermint, or lemon and ginger to provide an energy boost. Drinking plenty of water is a surprisingly simple way of feeling more wide awake. Hydration will also help you to stay calm.

Try Supplements

Many people with anxiety find some kind of relief in herbal supplements, Valerian root, licorice root, and passionflower are all known as natural remedies. It’s always good to check with your doctor before adding supplements, such as CBD edibles, to your diet, though. Supplements are not regulated in the same way as medicines, and even though they are natural they can have side-effects or interfere with other medications.

CBD Gummies

Some people find that CBD isolates calm their nerves. CBD is said to be beneficial for anxiety, although evidence is still limited. You might want to check that it’s legal in your area and that your doctor approves before trying this approach. So, there you go, our top tips on how to cope with anxiety.
