Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean you can’t do some sprucing up to the exterior of your home. With a lick of masonry paint, a little bit of attention to your windows and a tidy up of your garden, you can enhance the curb appeal of your home. Even if you aren’t thinking of selling up anytime soon, it’s good to have pride in your home.

Your driveway is the real entrance to your dwelling and can provoke a feeling of contentment and wonder or a feeling of dread and wanting to turn around and head home. Make your visitors feel the former by taking on board some of these killer curb appeal hacks.

Clean and Repair Your Roof

If your roof has seen better days and is looking a little bit like a patchwork quilt of slipped or missing tiles, you may need to consider new roofing tiles or slate to repair or replace your current ones. This won’t only enhance the facade of your property, but it will also make your humble abode more energy efficient and watertight saving you money on your heating bills.

While a tradesperson is up on your roof, you can also ask to have your gutters cleaned out, and even have the front of your house freshened up with some new masonry paint. By choosing a bright white, your home will look crisp, refreshed and new.

Driveway Curb Appeal

We all tend to neglect our driveways, using them as a surface to simply park the car. It doesn’t matter if you have a tarmac drive, a brickwork pattern or gravel, weeds will inevitably begin to poke through. Try and nip these in the bud immediately before your home begins to look more jungle-like.

If it is beginning to look a tad overgrown, you’ll need to whip on the gardening gloves and do some traditional weeding. In an afternoon your weed-laden outside space will return to a well-coiffed driveway once again. Mow the lawn and place some potted plants either side of your front door. By brightening up the outside area of your home with a  touch of greenery, you are adding real curb appeal.

Clean and Update Windows

Like the eyes are the windows to a person’s soul, your windows are the eyes to your home. You need them to look clean, fresh and well dressed. Some of this starts on the interior of your home. Classic drapes can create a traditional and cozy look from the outside. Alternatively, you might want a more modern look with blinds or shutters. It doesn’t matter which style you go for, simply ensure that you maintain consistency throughout for a cohesive look.

Window boxes full of colorful flowers are great to adorn the outside frames of your fascias bringing life to your home. Rather than looking bland and boring, your home can look vibrant and happy.

As people wander past your home or walk up your driveway, you want them to admire your pad. Go the extra mile and try to employ some of these killer curb appeal hacks and give your home a facelift.
