Looking for Love During the Pandemic COVID-19 Lockdown

During the past few weeks I’ve written a couple of articles on the challenges of keeping love and romance alive during the current coronavirus health crisis. Today I’m going to focus on the good old fashioned option of online dating sites.

While I used to think online dating was a bit corny, or even a bit cheesy, with social distancing going on week 1,000 (slight exaggeration) this method of finding friendship and companionship is actually making a come back.

If you are ready to start meeting and messaging singles in the UK and beyond, The Hampshire Dating Site is the perfect way to search for people near you with similar interests for friendship and companionship.

Continue on to get my take of online dating sites.

Try Various Online Dating Sites

Did you know that The Cardiff Dating Site is the place to go when you are looking for online dating sites to help you find love and romance during the current COVID 19 health crisis?

While a subscription service is usually necessary to gain access to all features of an online dating site, most sites let you sign up for free to browse around before signing up. You can use the search settings to find exactly who you are looking for and get the conversation started with Mr. or Mrs. Right.

And if the first online dating site or two aren’t to your liking, move on and try another one. You can find dating sites based on where you live, religious background, hobbies and interests, age range, single parents, divorced singles and more.

Fill Out a Detailed Online Profile

There is nothing worse than searching through online dating sites and finding profiles without pictures and/or only a sentence or two introduction. Now is not the time to be shy. To increase your chances of finding Prince (or Princess) Charming you need to completely fill out your personal profile section.

Some of the things to add to your online dating profile include things like:

  • Your name
  • You email address
  • You hobbies and interests
  • Your likes and dislikes
  • The general area where you live
  • Your idea of the perfect date
  • Do you have kids or even want kids?
  • What you are looking for – casual friendship or a serious relationship
  • How far you are willing to travel (or not travel) to meet someone
  • If you work full-time, part-time or are you retired

The Importance of Good Photos

In my opinion, the number one most important thing to add to your online dating profile is some recent photos! There’s nothing worse than finding profiles without photos – I always think these are either fake profiles or you are trying to hide something.

And please, PLEASE, PLEASE upload recent photos. Another pet peeve of mine is seeing profiles with high school graduation photos only to find out you are 2 years away from retirement. Honestly, you’re not fooling anyone.

And one final photo tip: Don’t upload photos that include your ex-wife, ex-girlfriend, ex-partner, etc. That just looks super lame, and kind of like you haven’t quite gotten over your ex, that you aren’t really ready to let go.

Honestly, take a few selfies or ask a friend to take a couple of current photos. With cellphones it’s really not that hard to snap an image or two and upload them online.
