Has your love life been altered by the current lockdown? Here are a few tips on how to date when your social life has been affected by social distancing and self-isolation at home as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

This post covers a few suggestions for single people to get yourself out there when you have virtually zero social life. Or, if you are in a new relationship, how do you “date” virtually as close contact is not advised during these difficult times.

Dating During the Coronavirus Crisis

If you are looking to meet dating singles in the UK and beyond, this Cambridgeshire dating site is a great place to start. You can virtually meet other people looking for love and companionship from the comfort of your own home. While close contact options, such as S-E-X may be off-limits right now, there are still many virtual options for dating that you can explore to the fullest.

The NPR (National Public Radio) and other sites offer many great tips on how to date during the coronavirus crisis. If you are currently isolating at home alone there is no need to lose hope. Texting, sexting, instant messaging, online dating apps and other virtual dating options abound.

Online Dating Apps and Video Chat Options

The coronavirus may change the way we all think about and go about dating and meeting new people for companionship on a permanent basis. Cambridgeshire dating isn’t as difficult as you would think when there are a variety of online dating sites and apps to choose from.

I always liked good old-fashioned phone calls over other forms of technology. There’s something about hearing your friend’s voice that is reassuring. And you can always go the extra step and use a video chat app like FaceTime, Zoom, Skype or Google Hangouts to also see the person you are talking to. Then it’s really up to the two of you as to how far you will go – you can still virtually reach first, second or third base if you get what I mean.

Meeting Mr. or Mrs. Right Virtually

Don’t hold back on meeting new people during these trying times. Get online, swipe right and get ready to meet Mr. or Mrs. Right. While you might have to hold off on in-person meetings and quick hookups right now, this really gives you a chance to get to know the other person at least on a virtual basis. Online dating takes a bit of the pressure off don’t you think? These in-depth virtual meetings give you a great chance to get to know the other person before you figure out how to meet on a more personal basis.

Once things start getting back to normal you can always arrange a time for a live and in-person meeting while still maintaining social distancing recommendations. Meeting for a coffee or a casual stroll in a local park might not be the most romantic option, but after weeks, or months, or virtual meetings, it is a step towards a possible more intimate relationship.

Only time will tell if online dating apps and virtual meetings are going to be the new normal method of dating. Back when HIV/Aids first came to light, making sure you both had been tested for any STDs was key. So going forward, asking your potential new partner for the results on their COVID-19 test may be the new norm of dating – only time will tell.
