Hold Hands and Enjoy a Stroll at Your Local Green Market

When it comes to free match dating ideas for UK singles many people turn to an online dating site or dating app. Virtual video dating is a great way to get to know new friends, but once lockdown is over, have you decided what you are going to do for your first live and in-person date?

There are many, many first date ideas you can try to impress your significant other. While drinks and dinner or dinner and a movie are two old standbys, they both seem a bit stuffy and old fashioned to me. And, as we are just coming out of the healthcare crisis coronavirus pandemic, who really wants to spend that much time cooped up indoors?

I’m always looking for fun and quirky first date night ideas that are a bit more adventurous than simply sitting down together to share a meal or watch a movie. A few interesting first date ideas that come to mind are taking a cooking class together, volunteering to play with the dogs and cats at an animal shelter, or go old school with a karaoke sing-along at your favorite pub.

Perfect Romantic First Date at the Green Market

Are you looking to Meet Kent Singles but are worried about what to do on that important first date? Here’s one of my favorite romantic date ideas. Did you know that farmer’s markets make a great first date idea? There’s nothing like strolling among the green market vendors hand-in-hand with your significant other while enjoying a bit of live music and snacking on a free sample or two (try before you buy).

I’m lucky enough to live in southeast Florida where the weather, except for an occasional rogue hurricane, is almost always warm and sunny. In fact, our summers can get a bit too hot and humid so our main gardening and green market season runs from around the beginning of October through the end of March or April.

The change in growing seasons for my raised bed fruit and vegetable garden was something I had difficulty getting used to when I first moved to Florida. I was relocating from way, way, WAY Upstate NY where we had a very short summer growing season. I think I was in a zone 5 garden, where most plants would freeze overwinter. I’m now in a sub-tropical garden zone – around a 9 or 10 on the USDA plant hardiness map

Fun and Sun at Local Farmer’s Market

I live in Palm Beach County, the county covering the largest land area in FL. From a population standpoint Miami-Dade county, which is about a 1 ½ hour drive south, has the largest number of people.

There are many farmer’s markets, green markets, and roadside fruit and vegetable stands to choose from down here. Most of our green markets are held on either Saturday or Sunday morning from around 9 am to 1 pm. That gives you a short window of opportunity to stroll hand-in-hand with your BFF at the weekend farmers market.

Some of the farmer’s markets near me are animal friendly so you’ll see people out and about walking their dogs with friends, family, and loved ones. The larger green markets have multiple food and craft vendors to choose from, seating areas to enjoy a freshly prepared meal or cup of hot or iced coffee.

The larger and more popular green markets even have a live band or local artist strumming on her guitar for a bit of live entertainment. That’s live FREE entertainment in the great outdoors – what’s not to love!?!
